Comparing ammo prices: per round, not per box
50-round box vs 20-round box, 115gr vs 124gr — how to compare 9mm ammo prices fairly and save hundreds of shekels a year.

If you train regularly, ammunition quickly becomes your biggest expense — more than range fees. Differences between stores and ranges can be tens of percent, but they're easy to miss because everyone prices a different box.
The rule: divide by the round count
A 50-round box for ₪95 vs a 20-round box for ₪42 — which is cheaper?
- 95 ÷ 50 = ₪1.90 per round
- 42 ÷ 20 = ₪2.10 per round
The "expensive" box is the cheap one. Over 1,000 rounds a year that's ₪200.
Compare like with like
- Same caliber — never compare 9mm with .45 ACP. That's why Kadurim always compares within one caliber.
- Bullet type — FMJ for training is cheaper than defensive JHP; FMJ is the usual range choice.
- Bullet weight (grain) — 115 vs 124 changes recoil and point of impact slightly. Try a few, then pick one and train with it.
- Range vs store price — some ranges require their own ammo. Check before you go.
More ways to save
- Buy in bulk (e.g. a 1,000-round case) if your license and storage allow.
- Watch for deals and track prices over time.
- Add dry fire — practicing at home means fewer rounds needed to improve.
- Log your spending — you can't save what you don't measure.
How Kadurim helps
The Compare prices tab on the Ranges screen shows every ammo price in ₪ per round, within one caliber, cheapest first. Found a different price in a store? Report it — it's updated after review. When you log a session you can record ammo and range costs, and the dashboard shows your monthly spend.
